Rocky Mount, N.C., March 19—Extensive additions upon the part of the Atlantic Coast Line railroad to their present holdings at South Rocky Mount were announced here today with the acceptance of 15 acres of land tendered by the city for a coach shop for this company. The program includes the building of shops costing in excess of $500,000 and employing 400 additional skilled workmen with a yearly payroll of three quarters of a million dollars.
The shops will provide a unit for car construction and repair for the first division of the company identical with that of the second division located at Waycross, it was stated.
