Jackson, Miss., Aug. 7—Mr. John A. Noell, formerly of the charming little city of Roxboro, N.C., but now of New Orleans, called at the State House today. He was introduced to the various State officials and signed the visitor’s register in the Governor’s office. His face registered surprise when he was introduced to the Counselor for the State Tax Commission. Hon. Robert S. Phifer, formerly of Burleigh and now of Jackson, Miss., who is pleasantly remembered by some of the citizens of Roxboro. Mr. Noell was the guest of Mr. Phifer at lunch, and the two gentlemen enjoyed talking over “old times” in Roxboro.
