Raleigh, N.C., Jan. 12—Ernest H. Cook, 23-year-old mechanic of Durham, N.C., was found guilty of manslaughter in connection with the fatal shooting of A.M. Thompson, local contractor, in the home of Mrs. Betty Spikes here last fall, by a jury in Wake superior court here tonight. Cook was sentenced to one year in state’s prison by Judge Henry A. Grady, presiding over the court.
