Salisbury, June 13—Joe Shack, negro, is in jail here with a probably fatal bullet wound in his temple, and a young white woman living near the city is at a neighbor’s recovering from severe shock and nervousness as a result of a terrible experience through which she went at 9 o’clock this morning when the negro entered her home where she was alone and attempted to criminally assault her.
