At a meeting of the school board held last night, Dr. A.H. Rose was chosen as a member of the board to succeed Dr. L.D. Wharton, who resigned a month ago. Dr. Wharton resigned on account of his health. He has served on the board for 10 years and has been an interested member of the board and has rendered splendid service to the school. He has been chairman of the board for the past two years, since the resignation of Mr. F.H. Brooks. Mr. Jas. A. Wellons, who has been vice-president of the board, was elected chairman at this meeting last night.
