Tolbert’s Music—Milt Tolbert’s orchestra of eight pieces will furnish a part of the Kiwanis program at Cleveland Springs hotel Thursday night. The youngsters who compose this orchestra are the original Virginia Serenaders and constitute one of the finest orchestras ever heard here.

New Directories—New telephone directories were distributed today, showing the names and numbers of subscribers to the Piedmont exchange up to April 1st. The new directories are received with a welcome because the old ones were worn and did not contain many numbers that have been added during the past three months.

Junior Flag—Next Sunday afternoon, April 11th, at 3 o’clock the Junior Order will present Bible and flag to East Marion street school. A splendid program is being arranged and will be printed in both Shelby papers later this week. Hon. John J. Carpenter of Gastonia, one of the leading Juniors of the state, will be on the program and will present the flag. Members of all councils in this and adjoining counties as well as the general public are invited. All Juniors are requested to meet at the hall of J.F. Webb building at 2:40 on the above date.
