We started the year with launching a tubercular campaign with the assistance of the doctor of the county and Supt. Of Public Instruction E. E. Bundy. Funds were raised to secure a full-time nurse in the County, who will begin her services the first of October. We also gave $150 to the Grammar School for repainting the walls, helped families with clothing that was much needed. Miss McNemar from West Virginia, under the auspices of the club, gave an entertainment of readings and musical numbers, receipts from this amounted to $10. We fitted and equipped a rest(?) room in Perquiman’s County High School at a cost of $50, donated a couch and pillow to the rest room in the Grammar school, served a dinner to the Rotarians in November, net proceeds amounting to $56.12.

A Christmas tree was erected on the Court House lawn services were conducted by all the ministers of the town. Special music was rendered by all the choirs and was greatly enjoyed.
In the beginning of the New Year, 1926, officers were elected, memberships divided into four ??. We began our Community House and remodeled the annex not occupied on the Grammar School grounds, permission granted by the Mayor and School Board, at a cost of $1,000. This consists of an attractive assembly room with comfortable chairs, tables, rugs, dainty curtains, potted plants, and a nice piano presented by the Rotarians, also a beautiful flag, donated by the McMullan family in memory of their father, W. T. McMullan. Adjoining this is a large banquet hall which is furnished with four banquet tables and chairs, accommodating 100 persons, a ladies’ rest room complete with plumbing fixtures and dressing cabinets. A cloak room for the gentlemen and a large splendidly equipped kitchen. Flowers and shrubs were planted around the Community huse and Grammar School building. The Guilford College Glee Club gave a musical under the auspices of the Welfare Club in February, from which $60 was derived. We have added 25 new members. Glad to report all dues paid in full. We now have a membership of 85 members.
We sold ice-cream at the county commencement, had an egg hunt at Easter, realizing from both $26. Served the Rotarians several times at their regular dinners, also served them two banquets, realizing from that $158. We have met 12 months during the year, put on a play from the Wayne P.
