Mountain Park Hotel Burned to Ground

By the Associated Press

Hot Springs, N.C., Jan. 23—The Mountain Park Hotel, which was formerly used by interned Germans as a barrack, was completely destroyed by fire of an undetermined origin, which was discovered at 6 o’clock this morning, entailing a loss estimated at $100,000.

The flames had made much headway before being discovered and the efforts of the village fire-fighters were unavailing. A score of guests in the hotel barely had time to escape after the alarm was given.
