Fayetteville today has received a clear call to duty in the appeal for aid received here from New Bern, and it is with full confidence in the generosity of our people to those in distress, that I take this means officially calling on the city to help our neighbor, New Bern, in any way possible.
New Bern is in urgent need of any assistance that can be extended her and even the poorest of us can help mightly with our little bit. Let us respond to New Bern’s appeal with generous and warm hearts.
