For the second time whin the past few weeks robbers early today shattered the plate glass window of Wagger’s Jewelry store in the downtown business district of High Point and escaped with jewelry. Robert J. Wagger, owner and proprietor of the store, today offered a reward of $200 for the apprehension and conviction of the thieves.
The robbery, according to Mr. Wagger, was committed about 12:30 o’clock this morning. He said he lieft the store shortly before 12 o’clock, went to the local café for lunch, and passed the store just after midnight noticing at that time that there had been no robbery. He had been at home only a few minutes, he said, when notified of the theft.
The loss as a result of last night’s robbery was small, according to Mr. Wagger, who said today that only two wrist watches were taken from the window.
Wagger’s jewelry store has suffered heavy losses as a result of robberies here during the past several months. Only a few weeks ago the plate glass window was broken and jewelry worth several hundred dollars was taken by the thieves.
The store is on the corner of Washington and Main streets, right in the heart of the city.
