Mr. Louis H. Hobson, aged 85 years, died at his home in McLauchlin township on Tuesday, August 7th, 1923. He lived a long and useful life. His nearest neighbors thought well of him. He was held in high esteem by a large number of friends.
He was a deeply pious man, and lived a consistent member of the Methodist church for many years. For many weeks he lay waiting for the last call.
Mr. Hobson was a brave Confederate soldier and did well his part for a cause he loved, and was a good and useful citizen since the close of that fratricidal struggle.
His remains were interred in Raeford cemetery Wednesday afternoon, a large gathering of friends assembling to pay a last tribute of respect.
