Folks Take Advantage of Southern Railway Excursion Trains to Washington, D.C., Sept. 3, 1923

Washington Excursion

The Southern Railway ran three excursion trains last Friday to Washington, one from Asheville and this section, one from Spencer and Winston-Salem and another from Charlotte, giving three nights and four days in Washington.

Mr. and Mrs. T.W. Ferguson, Mr. and Mrs. James Palmer and the writer when from here. Several people from Lake Junaluska also enjoyed the outing. The writer hurried back, arriving home Monday evening. On Sunday we spent about three hours in Baltimore. The weather was ideal and there is much to be seen in a short while.
