Mr. and Mrs. Chas. M. Thacker, formerly of Lillington but for the past year living in Raleigh, expect to move to Lillington about the first of January and occupy their home recently purchased from the Boney estate here. Mr. Thacker will be connected with the Northam-Thacker Motor Co., having recently purchased a half interest in the Northam Garage and the name of the firm having been changed as above.
Northam-Thacker Motor Co. expects to move into their new and commodious auto emporium by the first of February. The building is now being erected by Byrd Bros. & Shaw and is of brick construction with concrete flooring and glass front for showroom. The concern will make a specialty of Ford cars and repairing and parts. They have the authorized dealers’ agency for these cars.
Messrs. McLeod and Smith, two expert mechanics recently employed by the concern, are said to be a pair of the best auto mechanics in the South. Mr. McLeod is a son of Mr. and Mrs. John McLeod of Lillington. Electrical work needed by automobiles will also be specialized by the firm, apparatus and mechanical equipment for which has been installed which is declared to be the best of its kind in use.
