On Monday, February 11, at 1:30 o’clock, the Junior Class met with the Salemite Staff to elect the Editor-in-Chief and Business Manager of the Salemite for the year 1924-25. The nominations as maybe the staff for these respective positions were Misses Flora Binder and Lois Crowell for Editor-in-Chief, and Misses Margaret Hanner, Ellen Wilkinson, and Daisy Lee Glasgow for Business Manager. From these nominees, Miss Flora Binder was elected Editor-in-Chief, and Miss Margaret Hanner, Business Manager.
Miss Binder is a charter member of the Salemite Staff and during her freshman and sophomore years did excellent work as an associate editor. In the spring of 1923 she was elected managing editor and in this position she has given evidence of her literacy and executive ability. Miss Hanner, though a member of the business department for only a short while, has already made a remarkable success in this line of work.
The other members of the staff will not be elected until a later date; but, with the two most prominent and responsible positions so well and efficiently filled, the staff is looking forward with the greatest confidence and expectation to what the coming years will make of “The Salemite,” the aim of which has ever been to reflect in as far as possible the life and spirit of its Alma Mater.
