Charlotte, Feb. 6 (AP)—Indications here today where that Governor McLean would petition to call a special term of criminal court for the trial of Jim Knott of Hickory Grove and Oscar Martin of Charlotte, held on a charge of attacking an aged Newell woman Thursday. Solicitor John G. Carpenter of Gastonia was expected to confer today with Chief of Detective Bradley regarding the case.
Knott and Martin have been removed to a jail outside the city as a measure of safety. Both men are said by police to have confessed.
