Edward Cotton's 4-Legged Chick Dies, April 15, 1926

Freak Chick Falls Victim to Ravages of Dread Influenza

A few days ago Mr. Edward Cotton, prominent Goldsboro citizen, discovered the Cot-Tone-0 and who is well known all over this section, had dreams of vast riches to come. Today these dreams are a thing of the past. There will never materialize; that is not through Mr. Cotton’s erstwhile plan of procedure.

Recently Mr. Cotton picked up a monstrosity in the shape of a four-legged chick. The fowl was only a few days of age at the time but its new owner thought that he could coax it to live and before a great???, honest to goodness hen, or a rooster. However, fate was against him.

Sunday the chicklet was stricken low. Yesterday it passed to the place form which no chicks return. If it had been rheumatism the chicken had had, said Mr. Cotton, he could have cured it with Cot-Tone-0. But it was influenza instead. Passes the chicken. Passes Mr. Cotton’s wealth.
