Mr. Josie Willis, 65, Died of Flu March 30, 1926

Josie Willis Is Dead at Age 63. . . Substantial Farmer of No. 10 Is Victim of Influenza. . . Taught Sunday School at St. Peters

Mr. Josie Willis, aged 63 years, passed away at his home in No. 10 township on the morning of March 30, 1926. He had been in failing health for some time, but kept going until he had an attack of influenza which was too strong for his weak body. He was buried at St. Peters Wednesday morning at 11 o’clock. Funeral services were conducted by is pastor, Rev. John H. Greene, assisted by Rev. J.M. Morgan and J.W. Combs and also the Juniors.

He leaves to mourn his death one daughter, Mrs. P.M Mauney, and two grandchildren. His devoted companion preceded him to the grave a few months.

Mr. Willis joined St. Peters church when a young man, and he was a consistent Christian and faithful member until death. He was superintendent of the Sunday school and also a teacher for a long time when a young man. He was a kind and helpful neighbor and the community is greatly saddened and the county loses one of its most substantial and worthy citizens in his passing.
