Homes With Scarlet Fever Quarantined, Nov. 6, 1919

From the front page of The Hickory Daily Record, Nov. 6, 1919

Scarlet fever cases were reported today in the homes of Mr. R.M. Perry in West Hickory and Mr. Frank Fry in Longview.

Mr. and Mrs. W.T. Sledge have returned from Statesville where they were with their daughter, Miss Lucy Sledge, who is recovering from an operation for appendicitis. Miss Sledge spent a good night last night and is getting along splendidly.

Little Miss Bettie Gosnold is suffering from a severe cold and is confined to her room. Her many friends wish for her a speedy recovery.

Hickory friends of Rev. J.C. Garth will be interested and pleased to know that he has laid aside his crutches and is able to walk comfortably with the aid of a cane.
