Governor Declares 11th a Holiday

Raleigh, N.C., Nov. 8—IN accordance with an act of the recent legislature Governor Bickett has issued a proclamation setting aside Thursday, Nov. 11th, as a legal holiday and calling upon all good people of the State to appropriately celebrate the first anniversary of the signing of the armistice which bought peace to the world.

“I suggest that the day be celebrated in a way that shall show proper appreciation of the soldiers who fought so nobly and so well to advance America ideals and to save the civilization of the world, and that what ever contributions are made are given to every moment which seek to perpetuate their brave deeds.”
