Piedmont League Is
Organized at Durham
Durham, Nov. 1—The Piedmont League of organized baseball
clubs, composed of Raleigh, Durham, Greensboro, Danville, High Point, and
Winston-Salem, was formed in this city yesterday at a meeting of the baseball
producers from many North Carolina and Virginia cities. It will be a class D
circuit.
W.D. Braham of this city, former president of the now
disbanded Carolina league, was elected president and secretary-treasurer of the
new organization. His salary will be $1,200. Arthur Lyon of High Point was
elected vice-president and auditor.
