Bridge on Road to Raleigh Is Still Down After Flooding, Aug. 1, 1919

From The Daily Times, Wilson, N.C., Aug. 1, 1919

Bridge Still Down

The county bridge this side of Middlesex that was washed down by the recent heavy rains is still down and therefore those going to Raleigh will find it impossible to get there that way and must go around by Smithfield over the Central highway, according to Mr. A.B. Anderson, who has just returned from Raleigh. He says that the road, while rough, is safe, and that crops are badly damaged and there are frequent indications of the damage brought by the storm.
