Minister Calls Man Who Wants to Kill Bolsheviks a Pretend Patriot, March 1920

From The Fool Killer, a monthly religious newspaper published in Boomer, N.C., March, 1920

I read in a magazine a few days ago where some big stuck-up plutocrat remarked that if he could have his way he would shoot with his own revolver any man who called himself a Bolshevist.  And yet his objection to Bolshevism is based on the assumption that the Bolshevist is guilty of the very same kind of lawless conduct that he himself would like to be guilty of—“if he could have his way.”

Yes, if that murderous-minded fool could “have his way” there would be just one more Bolshevist in the world that would need shooting, and I would advise him to try the first shot on himself. A pretend “patriot” who handles that kind of talk is a hang-taked sight more dangerous than the reddest “Red” that ever wore whiskers.
