In Recorder’s Court

Columbus Nichols, negro, who says he has been in a soldiers’ home at Johnson City, Tenn., will be given a hearing in recorder’s court this afternoon on the charge of entering four Hickory homes Saturday afternoon. Nichols appears to be half-witted.

Mr. Ray Smyre and Ellis Gingles, colored, will be given a hearing for an affray that occurred at the Hickory shops yesterday afternoon. Mr. Smyre says he was cursed by the negro, who got the worst of the encounter. Deadly weapons in the form of wood were used.
