Representative H.G. Connor Jr. of Wilson is preparing a bill at Raleigh which would cede “the county of Dare to the Irish Republic along with its hell, Democrats, ducks and Member Crisp.”

(From The Independent, Elizabeth City, N.C., Jan. 14, 1921. H.G. Connor Jr. And B.G. Crisp were members of the North Carolina State House of Representatives.)
