Last night the pack house and stock barn of Mr. N.R. Manning in Griffin’s Township was destroyed by fire. The barn was used as a grading tobacco house by a colored tenant. No one had been in the house during the day, however, and the origin of the fire is a mystery. It was discovered about 8 o’clock but had too much headway to be quenched. The loss is about $1,000 with a very small amount of insurance.
