Sam Bowden, an aged negro man, was recovering from injuries Wednesday morning sustained when knocked down by an automobile driven by Claude Edwards Tuesday evening at Myers and Trade streets. The negro is at Good Samaritan hospital.
A police investigation revealed that Bowden walked into the rear fender of the moving vehicle. He is blind in one eye and near-sighted. Mr. Edwards reported he saw Bowden but presumed the negro would stop as he was to the right of the machine when it started to pass him.
