The barracks of the former Horner Military School building in the extreme edge of Myers Park is being remodeled into an apartment house to contain 21 apartments. The renovation is being done by the Myers Park Homes Company, of which V.J. Guthery is president.
This is the main building of what was formerly the Horner group of structures. The residence that was utilized by President Horner at the time he was conducting his school has been converted into four apartments, which are now being occupied.
The number of the 21 apartments to be provided by the remodeling of the main building have already been leased.
The new Myers Park Golf Club runs right alongside these premises and the new apartments are being especially sought, it is understood, by those who want to live in close proximity to the golf links.
