Beaufort, Oct. 15—Perhaps the biggest catch of spots ever made in Core Sound was taken on Monday by some fishermen from Stacy in Styron’s Bay, which is between Sea Level and Atlantic. The men caught the fish and kept them surrounded with their nets for two days. Some 40,000 pounds were sold, which glutted the markets and according to reports the first of the fish were allowed to escape.
Quite a good many fine blue fish, mullets, spots and other sorts have been coming here and to Morehead City this week, and the fish houses have been busy trying to take care of them. A great many are shipped every day, but the stocks on hand are quite large.
