Asheville, Oct. 15—By order of Fred Thomas, referee in bankruptcy, all of the goods and effects of Scott Dillingham Inc., used car concern in this city, closed down several weeks ago when the proprietor, Scott Dillingham, absconded, leaving many obligations unpaid and bondsmen unprotected on over $25,000, will be sold at public auction Saturday morning, October 22. John H. Cathey, clerk of Superior Court and trustee in the matter, will conduct the sale.
The sale of the stock of Scott Dillingham marks the passing of the last visible evidence of the chaos left behind by the fleeing used car dealer. There are numerous records in the court and litigation is still going on, however, to testify to the activities of the used car dealer, who was able to make his get-away with obligations, cash and notes, amounting to over $100,000.
