Sheriff Buchnan Injured Attempting to Stop KKK Parade, Oct. 2, 1921

Texas Sheriff Fires on Parade of Ku Klux Klan

Waco, Texas, Oct. 1—Pistols spat fire and white shrouded riders rode pell mell in confusion tonight whien Sheriff Bob Buchnan attempted to stop a Ku Klux parade at Lorena, 14 miles south of here.

Reports reaching here state that four men were shot, but it was not known whether any of the victims had been fatally injured.

Among the injured were Sheriff Buchnan, Louis Crow of Waco, and Carl West of Lorena.

Ambulances were rushed to Lorena from this city to bring the injured to hospitals here.
