Death of Mrs. Nellie Stewart Taylor

Statesville, March 10—The funeral of Mrs. Nellie Taylor, aged 77, who died Wednesday at her home on Trade street, was held from the home yesterday afternoon at 3 o’clock, Rev. W.J. Wright and Rev. C.E. Raynel conducting the service. Interment was in Oakwood cemetery.

Mrs. Taylor was the wife of the late G.W. Taylor, and is survived by one daughter, Mrs. E.S. Johnson of Statesville; one sister, Mrs. Bettie Cobb, and one brother, A.H. Stewart of Mecklenburg county.

Mrs. Taylor was the daughter of the late Alan Stewart of Mecklenburg county. She was twice married, her first husband being Dr. McEachern, a surgeon in the Confederate army. She was married to George W. Taylor in Mecklenburg county in the year 1871. They lived first in Charlotte, then in Concord, and then removed to Statesville.

Among those here for the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. E.H. McCamp, Mr. and Mrs. F.W. Sossamon, Mr. and Mrs. C.B. Poloe, of Gaffney, S.C.; Mrs. F.W. McCombs, J.A. Stewart and Charles Stewart of Charlotte; and R.L. Miller of Salisbury.
