Salisbury, March 11—Mrs. A.M. Owen was instantly killed and her husband seriously wounded about 10 o’clock this morning when a tree which was being cut down fell across the buggy in which they were riding.
The negro man who cut down the tree left the scene after giving out news of the tragedy. Mr. and Mrs. Owen were residents of Linwood, and were traveling toward Salisbury. The accident occurred 6 ½ miles north of Salisbury.
