Teachers Salaries Will Remain the Same, March 19, 1922

Teachers’ Wage Not Changed. . . Supt. Harding Says Salaries Next Year Will be the Same as This

The salary scale for Charlotte school teachers will not be altered, upward or downward, next year.

Announcement of the policy for next year was made by H.P. Harding, superintendent of schools, at the regular monthly teachers’ meeting at the Alexander Graham High school Saturday morning. Salaries will ethe same as those in effect this year.

A teacher, who is graduated from a four-year college, is given $105 a month at the start. The scale slides upward for connection with the schools as follows: One year, $113 a month; two years, $119; three years, $125; four years, $138.33; and five years, $150.

A graduate of a three-year college receives $100 a month at the start, $107 the first year; $155 the second; $119 the third, and $125 the fourth.

The scale for graduates of two-year colleges is $95 at the start, $101 first year, $107 the second, $113 the third, and $119 the fourth.
