Ed Crawford Appointed County Forest Fire Warden, Dec. 7, 1923

Ed Crawford Becomes Forest Warden in Clay

At a conference between the County and District Forest Fire Warden C.I. Peterson in Hayesville Wednesday Mr. E. Crawford of Hayesville was appointed county forest fire warden for Clay County. There are six district wardens in the county and Mr. Crawford will have direct charge of their work. The State and county are co-operating in the work of fire prevention in the county.

Mr. Harve Patton of Hayesville was sent the appointment blanks as county warden several weeks ago, but because of his intended removal from the county, he could not accept the appointment.

District Warden Peterson returned to headquarters in Asheville Thursday after having spent several days in Cherokee and Clay Counties this week.
