High Point, Dec. 12—J.E. Matthews, garage proprietor at Jamestown, has received through the mails a crudely written note to the effect: “Sell out by January 1 or death. K.K.K., ‘Death.’”
He told the police that he knew of no reason for an attack upon his business or himself and that he did not intend to do anything about the “warning” other than to turn the note over to the authorities. He also stated that he did not think the communication was from any member of the Ku Klux Klan.
