Prizes offered by the Dortch and Hines real estate people to the three people guessing nearest to the amount of money the R.H. Wright property across from the Kronhelmer store would bring when sold have been announced. The first prize of $100 goes to S.S. Little; the second of $50 goes to Charles Wilson; and the third prizes to D.P. Johnson, amounting to $25.
The sale was conducted recently but was not confirmed, the property not bringing the amount that in the estimation of the owner it should bring. The total amount brought was approximately $122,000. The property fronting Main street brought as high as $1,175 a front foot, while the Chapel Hill street lots brought around $615 a front foot. The property is among the most valuable in the city.
