Charlie James Is Fined $500 by Judge Webb

A fine of $500 and the costs, making a total of from $700 to $800, was adjudged against Charlie James in Federal court in Wilkesboro by Judge Webb. Since his apprehension, James has committed himself never to have anything more to do with whiskey in any way. Among those present with him at his trial as character witnesses were: Clerk of Court J.A. Hartnes, Sheriff M.P. Alexander, T.O. Teague. Mr. James is a son of Joe James of Stoney Point.
