Goldsboro Youth Arrested on Serious Charge. . . Earl Loftin, 20-Year-Old Youth, Is Arrested on a Charge of Forgery

Earl Loftin, about 20 years of age, and a Goldsboro boy was arrested early last night by the local police and lodged in the city jail on a charge of forgery.

It is charged that on Wednesday he forged the name of J.W. Ward, a local business man, to a check in the amount of $5 and prevailed upon Mrs. Dr. Malone to cash it for him.

Loftin has been arrested on a charge of forgery two or three times previous, according to the police, and only about two months ago he was released by Judge Bland on a promise to leave the State and not return for a period of two years.

The police stated that Loftin is wanted in three counties for the same offense.
