Miss Lula M. Cassidey, an editor of the Southern Ruralist of Atlanta, Georgia, is in Chapel Hill and will be here until about the end of February. She is staying with Miss Glass and the other school teachers on Rosemary Lane.
Miss Cassidey used to be demonstration agent and school supervisor in Orange County. Her work in that capacity and something that she wrote about it attracted the attention of the owners of the magazine and they offered her the position of editor of the department called “The Home.” Although she had no experience in publication work, she made a success of it from the start.
Just now she is particularly interested in the Carolina Playmakers. She is going to publish an article about them and will probably publish some of their plays. Her idea is to stimulate among people in rural communities and interest in home-created drama.
