Varied Cases in Recorder’s Court. . . Sam Briggs Draws 60 Days on Roads for Vagrancy—Other Defendants Tried

An even dozen new cases were called on Saturday morning in recorder’s court, charges varying from the unusual drunkenness cases to speeding and vagrancy troubles. Dispositions were made as follows:

Cremo Olee, drunkenness, $5 and the costs

C.V. Stagg, drunkenness, $5 and the costs

Roxie Rigsbee, drunkenness and disorderly conduct, not guilty

Ethel Williams boisterous cursing, not guilty; and Lula Williams, state’s witness, ordered to pay the costs

W.J. Dennis, violating dairy regulations, September 10

Muse Stagg, assault with a deadly weapon, $5 and the costs

Ester Stanley, illegal possession of whiskey, $25 and the costs, appealed, bond $50

Dr. T.C. Tinsley and Annie Anderson, suing room for immoral purposes, Tinsley $25 and the costs, Anderson, called and failed (to appear)

O.T. Bridgers, giving worthless check, called and failed (to appear)

Lawrence Rogers, speeding and reckless driving, $5 and the costs

Sam Briggs, vagrancy, 60 days on the roads.
