TB Patient Paroled, Sept. 7, 1924

Negro Is Paroled

Raleigh, Sept. 6—Because he is suffering from tuberculosis, Percy Newman, serving a 10-year sentence in the state penitentiary, today was paroled for the remainder of his term by Governor Morrison. Newman was convicted in Guilford county in March, 1921, in connection with the theft of an automobile.
