Officers, Directors Elected to Cabarrus County Mills, Jan. 19, 1925

Officers and Directors in Cabarrus County Mills. . . Prospects for the Coming Year Are Considered Brighter in Most Quarters

Practically every mill in Concord and Kannapolis has held, during the past week, stockholders and directors meetings at which time the dividends were voted and officers and directors elected for the coming year. More than the usual number of changes in personnel occurred in the various boards of the mills.

The year has been a very unfavorable for most of the mills, the first six months being the worst. During that time, practically every mill in the state lost money and even those that did not lose money, say the mill men, ran on such a close margin as to make the profits practically negligible. The last six months were much better with the result that many of the mills declared a small dividend, ranging from 5 to 10 per cent.

Prospects for the coming year are brighter, though most conservative mill officials are not too optimistic. Some state they believe there will be much better times ahead. Others are of the opinion that there are little prospects for a better year, though they are hoping that the present conditions will not continue.

The only mills in Concord which have not had their annual meetings are the Locke and the Renfrew. Both of these will meet early during the next week. The results of the other meetings is given below.
