Infection Keeps Cobb Out of Game, Jan. 24, 1925

Captain Cobb Unable to be in Game Tonight. . . Is Still Suffering with Infected Shoulder—In Shape for Northern Trip

The Tar Heels will again be without the services and leadership of their captain when they meet Duke tonight. Cobb is still suffering with an infected neck and shoulder and will not be able to play.

Starting from a boil on his neck and aggravated by the hard exercise that he was undergoing in his daily work-outs, the infection spread down into his shoulder. Several days ago he went to Watts hospital in Durham, where two small incisions were made.

He is now recovering and while not in shape to play in tonight’s game, it is expected that he will be in fine fettle for the northern trip which begins next Friday.
