State Superintendent of Public Instruction A.T. Allen has called my attention to Chapter 149 Public Laws of 1923, which requires the teaching of Americanism in the public schools of North Carolina. The book adopted for this course, Our Dual Government by Dr. E.C. Brooks. The book may be obtained from the publishers, Rand, McNally & Company, Chicago, Ill., or from the North Carolina School Book depository, N.C
. Supt. Allen asks that the work begin in the schools this year, and I shall be glad to have you see what may be done in this direction at once.
