A surprise party was much enjoyed by Mrs. J.F. Sample Thursday night at her home on Fleetwood street given in honor of her 59th birthday. Mrs. Sample received many nice gifts besides the birthday cake. Mrs. S.M. Meekins gave a scripture reading and led in prayer. Ice cream and cake were served.
Those present were Mr. and Mrs. J.T. Sample, Mrs. W.F. Meekins, Mrs. Sallie Copeland, Mrs. Hattie Liverman, Mrs. Lizzie Winslow, Mrs. Lizzie McDonald, Mrs. Lina Kirby, Mrs. Celia Spear, Mrs. Elizabeth Copeland, Mrs. Em Sawyer, Mrs. S.M. Meekins, Mrs. Alean White, Mrs. Joe Crain, William, Frances, George and Lucille Crain, Zelma, Clarine and Royce Kirby, Lora and Dora Meekins, Frances Spear, Margaret Copeland, Sudie Copeland and Della McDonald, and M.E. Tuttle.
