Franklinton, May 10—Miss Siddie H Green died at the home of Col. C.L. McGhee this afternoon at 6 o’clock in her 85th year. The funeral services will be held tomorrow at 4:30 and interment made in Franklinton Cemetery. Miss Green was the daughter of the late William Oscar Green and Cynthia Hartsfield. She was born on the Louisburg-Youngersville road at the old Green homestead, and one of a family of nine children, three boys and six girls, all of whom preceded her to the grave except one, Mrs. Celestia Smith of Katesville.
Her other brothers and sisters were Col. W.F. and J.O. Green of Franklinton, and Andrew H. Green of Raleigh; Mrs. Emily Jeffries, Mrs. W.H. Mitchell, Mrs. Eliza Joyner and Miss Penelope Green.
Miss Green received her education at Louisburg College, being one of its first graduates. She joined the Methodist church when a mere child and remained a faithful and consecrated member of the same until her death.
She was known by all for her gentleness and kindly disposition, thinking no evil of anyone and loving the good.
