L.F. Abernethy's Hudson Stolen in Bold Theft, Jan. 3, 1921
Thieves early this morning rolled Mr. L.F. Abernethy’s Hudson automobile from the side of his residence on Thirteenth avenue and made off with it. Mr. Abernethy gave pursuit an hour or two later but no word had been received from him or the car early this afternoon. It was a bold theft.
Chief Lentz and Mr. Z.S. Troutman went to Charlotte this afternoon in response to a message from Chief Orr stating that Mr. Abernethy’s car, which had been taken there by three boys, had been recovered. Mr. Abernethy and Mr. Harrison Winkler were on the trail this forenoon.
