Carolina Wins in Debating Contest

Chapel Hill, N.C., Dec. 8—The University of North Carolina defeated the University of South Carolina here tonight in a debate on the question: “Resolved that a constitutional amendment should be adopted giving congress power to pass a federal divorce act.” South Carolina upheld the affirmative. The vote in favor of North Carolina was three to nothing.

On the visiting debating team were K.M. Smith, Calhoun Thomas and J. Witt Kowsk, while North Carolina’s team was composed of Earl H. Hartzell, J.W. Deyton and J.C. Hampton Jr.
