Young Woman Dies at Father’s Home. . . Miss Essie Kerr Died Saturday After an Illness of Several Weeks

Miss Essie Kerr, 26, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W.R. Kerr, died at their home on New Angier avenue, in East Durham Saturday afternoon after an illness which lasted for almost two months. The funeral will be held from the home Sunday at 3:30. Rev. H.F. Brinson, pastor of the East Durham Baptist church of which the deceased was a member, will officiate.

She is survived by six brothers, C.C. Kerr, Luther J. Kerr, Ed Kerr, Owen Kerr, Theodore Kerr, and Otha Kerr.

Pall bearers as announced with be: Willie Fonville, Philip Clarke, Dessie Wilson, Ona Mitchell, Marvin Carden and Andrew Williams. Floral bearers will be: Bertha Williams, Elsie Lynn, Vallie King, Patti Leathers, Mrs. M.D. Johnson, Mrs. A.P. Wiggins, Swannie Peebles and Jennie White.
