News from Girl Reserves Club, Jan. 12, 1925

Girl Reserve News

The cabinet of the Blue Triangle Club had an informal luncheon at the Y.M.C.A. Tuesday, January 1, 1925. At the close of the luncheon Mrs. Thomas Sykes led in the devotional and gave many helpful thoughts for 1925.

The president, Ruth Clinard, opened discussion on business and it was decided to continue the “Rainy Day Bags,” in which every girl should drop a penny when it rained, three cents when it sleeted, and five cents for snow. This money is to be counted in January and will be put in the treasury.

A suggestion was also made of getting a Girl Reserve flag. This will be decided on later. The different committees were read and several changes made. The music committee chairman, Pauline Hicks, chose her assistants, Clennie Anderson, Aline Kaneer and Ruth Russell.

The club has secured a bulletin board in the form of a triangle—the background being white with a blue outline. This has been placed on the wall in the middle corridor of the high school building. All notices of the Girl Reserves meetings will be posted there, and it is hoped that the interest will be worked up considerably and that the meetings will be attended by a large number since we have this ”reminder.”

The next meeting and topic to be discussed will be posted on the bulletin board soon.
